Overview

minecraft:climate is a biome component: it goes in the components object of a custom biome. Sets the weather and warmth of the biome: how hot it is, how wet it is and how much snow piles up. Biomes without it use standard values.

Fields

FieldTypeDefaultDescription
downfallnumbernoneHow wet the biome is, which also changes grass and leaf colors. Set it to 0 for a biome where it never rains.
snow_accumulationnumber[]noneLowest and highest snow depth during snowfall. Every 0.125 adds one snow layer.
temperaturenumbernoneHow warm the biome is. Low values bring snow and ice; it also changes things like sky color and whether wet sponges dry out.

Example

Inside the components object of BP/biomes/<name>.biome.json (values are the defaults or placeholders):

BP/biomes/<name>.biome.json
{
  "minecraft:climate": {
    "downfall": 1,
    "snow_accumulation": [],
    "temperature": 1
  }
}
