Make a custom Bedrock block on your phone: texture, name, mining time, light, drops and a crafting recipe, then test it in your world.
A custom block is the best first project in GodCraft. You see the result right away, there are only a few settings that really matter, and you end up with something you can build with. In this guide we'll make a glowing "Ruby Block" from scratch and get it into a world.
The Minecraft version shown at the top of the add-on editor (for example "MC 1.21") is the game version you are making it for. Tap it to change it if your players are on an older version.
Under Custom Block you will also see shapes like Custom Slab, Custom Stairs, Custom Fence and Custom Door. They open the same editor with the right model already set up. Further down is the list of every vanilla block; picking one of those re-textures the existing block instead of adding a new one. For now, stick with Custom Block.
The block editor opens with a 3D preview at the top. Tap the texture field to choose where the texture comes from:
Next to it is Texture Layout:
We usually start a block in Paint 2D by picking a vanilla texture as a base and recoloring it. It keeps the style close to Minecraft and is much faster than drawing from an empty grid.
Type the Name players will see, such as "Ruby Block". The Identifier fills in from the name (for example ruby_block) and the app adds the godcraft: prefix. It must be lowercase and unique within your add-on; the editor warns you if another object already uses it.
Right below, a small card shows the command to get the block in game, like /give @s godcraft:ruby_block. Tap it to copy. You'll want it for testing.
Pick a Category too. It decides which tab of the creative inventory the block shows up in.
The collapsible sections below hold the block's properties. The ones worth setting for a first block:
In Drops, set "When mined, drop" to Itself, Custom item or Nothing. A custom item drop is how you make an ore: the block drops a gem, with a Drop count you choose. For more control (several items, random amounts) use Custom loot table.
Tap Save. The block now appears in your Objects list.
Without a recipe, survival players can only get your block with commands. To add one, go back to Add Object > Recipes > Crafting Recipe. Choose Shaped or Shapeless, tap the grid slots to place ingredients, then tap the result slot and pick your block. Eight red dye around a diamond, for example.
/give command.Saving and installing use a few gems; with Premium they are free.
godcraft: prefix. When you're comfortable with the basics, look at States & Permutations and Triggers & Events in the same editor. That's where blocks get directions, on/off states and actions when you interact with them.
