Howdy, neighbor! Four friendly farm animals have wandered in from the countryside, and each one brings something good to your homestead: fresh duck eggs, creamy goat milk, soft alpaca fleece and big bronze turkey feathers. Build them a cozy pen with feeders and nest boxes, then cook up a proper farmhouse supper.
The animals
- Pekin Duck: waddles along rivers and swamps in little groups. Breed it with wheat, beetroot, melon or pumpkin seeds. Every 5 to 10 minutes it lays a pale Duck Egg. It flutters down safely from any height and drops Raw Duck and a few feathers.
- Bronze Turkey: struts through forests and plains, fanning its striped tail. Breed it with sweet berries, pumpkin seeds or beetroot seeds. Every 8 to 15 minutes it sheds a Turkey Feather, and it drops Raw Turkey and feathers.
- Alpaca: grazes on windswept hills and meadows. Breed it with wheat or hay bales. Use shears on a grown alpaca for 2 to 3 Alpaca Fleece. It looks freshly shaved for a while and its fleece grows back in 5 to 8 minutes.
- Pygmy Goat: a tiny brown and white goat from savannas and meadows. Breed it with wheat or apples. Use a Glass Bottle on a grown goat to fill a bottle of Goat Milk. After milking it needs 3 to 5 minutes before it is ready again.
Every animal has its own baby. Babies follow their parents around, and feeding them their favorite food helps them grow up faster. All four can be leashed and named, and each has a spawn egg in the creative menu.
Farm blocks
- Feeding Trough: 5 oak planks with 1 wheat in the top middle (planks, wheat, planks over a row of 3 planks). Ducks and turkeys within 12 blocks trot over for a meal and become well fed for 10 minutes: ducks lay eggs twice as often and turkeys shed feathers twice as often. Green sparkles show a happy eater.
- Hay Feeder: 7 sticks around 1 hay bale (stick, gap, stick / stick, hay bale, stick / 3 sticks). Freshly sheared alpacas and milked goats nearby go for a snack, and their fleece or milk is ready again right away.
- Nest Box: 4 sticks and 1 wheat (stick, gap, stick over stick, wheat, stick). Duck eggs laid within 4 blocks roll straight into its straw, so no more hunting through tall grass.
- Alpaca Fleece Block: 4 Alpaca Fleece in a square. A soft, cream colored building block for cozy cabins.
Farmhouse kitchen
- Cook Raw Duck, Raw Turkey and Duck Eggs in a furnace, smoker or campfire for Roast Duck, Roast Turkey and Fried Duck Egg. Roast Turkey is as filling as a steak.
- Drink Goat Milk any time: it clears every status effect, just like a bucket of milk, and you get the empty bottle back.
- Warm Goat Milk in a furnace or smoker to make a wheel of Goat Cheese.
- Mix a Duck Egg, Goat Cheese and Wheat in any order for a hearty Farmhouse Quiche.
- Handy extras: 2 Alpaca Fleece make 1 White Wool, 1 Turkey Feather splits into 2 Feathers, and Flint over a Stick over a Turkey Feather fletches 6 Arrows.
Tips
- Put a Nest Box and a Feeding Trough inside your duck pen and the eggs will pile up in one tidy spot.
- A Hay Feeder in the middle of the paddock keeps your alpacas fluffy and your goats ready for milking.
- Raw duck and turkey can upset your tummy now and then, so cook them first.
