नयाWayfarer's Toolkit: Homes, Waystones and Server Commands

MrVildy here. I run a survival server and got tired of rescuing people from ravines, so I made this. It adds real slash commands with autocomplete, a craftable Waystone network and a Pocket Map. Everything works with cheats OFF and needs no experimental toggles.

The command manual

Each command also has a long name like /waykit:home, in case another add-on took the short one.

/sethome [name]
Saves the spot you are standing on as a home. No name means it is called "home".
Example: /sethome base
3 homes per player by default. Setting a home with an existing name moves it. Names are one word.

/home [name]
Teleports you to a home. With no name you go to "home" (or your first one).
Example: /home base
Stand still for 3 seconds while it charges up. Moving or taking damage cancels it (no escaping creepers). 30 second cooldown.

/homes
Opens a menu with all your homes and their coordinates. Tap one to travel there.
Example: /homes
Same warmup and cooldown as /home.

/delhome <name>
Deletes a home.
Example: /delhome oldbase
Frees the slot for a new one.

/back
Takes you to your last death point, or to where you stood before your last teleport, whichever happened most recently.
Example: /back
2 minute cooldown. Your items are still where you dropped them; this is a lift, not a miracle.

/spawn
Teleports you to the world spawn in the Overworld.
Example: /spawn
1 minute cooldown. Works from the Nether and the End too.

/tpa <player>
Asks another player if you can teleport to them.
Example: /tpa Pebble
Expires after 60 seconds. 30 second cooldown, so no spamming friends.

/tpahere <player>
Asks another player to teleport to you.
Example: /tpahere Juniper
Same rules as /tpa.

/tpaccept and /tpdeny
Answers the last teleport request you got.
Example: /tpaccept
The player who moves still goes through the warmup.

/afk
Marks you as away. Your name tag gets a grey [AFK] and the chat is told.
Example: /afk
Moving clears it. You also go AFK by yourself after 5 minutes of standing perfectly still.

/stats [player]
Shows playtime, distance walked, blocks mined and placed, kills, deaths, waystones found and homes.
Example: /stats Juniper
Counted from the moment the pack is added. Old deaths are forgiven.

/wayconfig
Operators only. Opens the settings menu.
Example: /wayconfig

Waystone (block)

Recipe: crafting table, top row stone bricks, ender pearl, stone bricks; middle row stone bricks, compass, stone bricks; bottom row three stone bricks.

How it works: place it and a menu asks you for a name (and if it is open to everyone or private). Using a Waystone discovers it and opens a list of every Waystone you know. Pick one, stand still for 3 seconds, and you arrive where the builder stood when placing it. Sneak and use it with an empty hand to rename it.

Cost: 1 XP level per 1000 blocks of distance (minimum 1, maximum 5), plus 1 extra to change dimension. Free in creative.

Notes: only the owner or an operator can break a Waystone, and explosions do not touch it. A missing one is forgotten the first time someone arrives there.

Pocket Map (item)

Recipe: crafting table, paper in the top middle, paper on both sides of a compass in the middle row, redstone in the bottom middle.

How it works: hold it and the bar above your hotbar shows live coordinates, the direction you face, the biome and the time of day. Use it to get a full location card in chat. Sneak and use it to share your coordinates with everyone.

Notes: the biome readout shows on game versions whose script engine can read biomes; everything else works everywhere.

Setup tips for server owners

• No experiments needed. Add both packs to the world and you are done.
• Tune it with /wayconfig (operators only): homes per player (1 to 10), cooldowns for /home, /spawn, /back and /tpa, the teleport warmup (0 to 10 seconds), the Waystone cost (0 makes it free), the auto AFK timer, and on/off switches for /back, /spawn and /tpa.
• Hardcore-ish server? Switch /back off and raise the Waystone cost. People will start building roads.
• Creative and spectator players skip cooldowns, warmups and costs.
• /spawn uses the world spawn point, so moving that moves /spawn too.
